Sally Morgan
PSYCHIC to the stars, Sally Morgan, is coming to Harrogate as part of her first national tour.

Famous for her work with the late Princess of Wales and for her recent ITV television series, Sally says: “To be the first medium to have their own terrestrial TV show is incredible, but to have my own theatre show touring the UK is something else!

Sally first became aware of her psychic abilities as a child. She claims that her ability is so strong that not only can she read someone’s past and predict their future, she can also see, hear and speak to dead people with astonishing results.

Her touring show, called An Audience With Sally Morgan, will see her talking about her experience on television with various celebrities, giving live readings to randomly picked members of the audience and talking about her career.

The show is at the Harrogate International Centre on Saturday, May 30. Tickets are £19.50 on 0845 130 8840.
Golden Pond THREE generations come together in the next production from the Knaresborough Players when the group perform the critically-acclaimed play/film On Golden Pond.

Written by playwright Ernest Thompson as his first full length work, the play this year marks its 30th anniversary since it was first performed in 1979 and the Players are looking forward to reproducing it on the stage of Knaresborough’s Frazer Theatre.

Set in New England, the play centres on Ethel and Norman Thayer, their daughter Chelsea, and her new lover, Bill, and his son, Billy.

The three generations collide in a play that looks at issues that could affect any family including a strained father-daughter relationship and “grandfatherly” bonding with an upstart teenager.

Kathryn Leigh makes her debut directing for the Players with this quiet and sensitive offering.
You can see the play from May 13 to 16 at 7.30pm. Tickets priced £7 and £5 are available from Wild Orchid, High Street, Knaresborough on 01423 861232.

WITH music by ABBA songwriters Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and lyrics by Tim Rice, the rock opera Chess has been a constant hit with audiences since opening in the West End 26 years ago. Now it is being brought to the stage of Harrogate’s Royal Hall by one of the town’s amateur dramatics group.

Kamamica will be presenting Tim Rice’s preferred version of the show next month. Chess tells the story of a love triangle between the American Grandmaster, his glamorous second and the Russian Champion. The musical features an impressive hit score which includes the duet I Know Him So Well, One Night in Bangkok and Heaven Help My Heart. Chess is at the Royal Hall on Saturday, May 9.

Tickets are available from the Harrogate International Centre Box Office.
