Trees are going up, lights are switching on and letters are being written to Santa.
Christmas is a time for celebration and everyone has their own unique way of joining in the festivities.
Children dress up as fairies, elves and reindeer and parents proudly watch school productions and carol concerts.
Some houses have a few sprigs of holly on the mantelpiece and others are aglow with multi-coloured lights inside and out.
