ARE we alone? The question has fascinated man for centuries, perhaps even for millennia, and Harrogate is no exception. At the Harrogate Advertiser we hear many a tale of strange lights in the sky, of unidentified objects flying overhead with no apparent explanation. And the town is just as quick to debunk the stories, with stories of meteorological phenomena and Chinese lanterns.

i was in starbeck killinhall the other day and saw a strange dark figure emerging from the darkness... it seemd kind of human form but with a lot of fur your probably going to think im crazy and i know it sounds stupid but that is what i saw... was very scared and had my son with me who asked me if it was a bear... any ideads what it could be??

I have seen loads of orange balls in the sky and have some very strange pictures, one was a zoom in and has what appears to be a man sat on it! These are not chinese lanterns as they change direction and against the wind speed, also it has happened so many times and the pictures i have show typical UFO shapes

last saturday night walking on the path from cornwall road to the r.h.s. garden saw some objets over killing hall moor moving slowly from west to east watch them for a few minutes before they were gone
